I mean, it's not super fancy, but I like to think that my grilled cheese and soup plating is on point.
3K check-ins on @untappd in 8 years. I win!?!
Thai inspired turkey stir fry with wide noodles. Spicy, savory and wonderfully easy to make. I'd recommend it for sure. I'd also recommend this @traderjoes seltzer, which is essentially a knockoff Spindrift, and is pretty delicious.
Monday night usually calls for an easy dinner. Tonight, we went full-veggie with some Impossible sausages, sauteed veggies, polenta, and spicy tomato sauce from Trader Joe's. Tasty, just a bit spicy, and perfect for Monday at just 30 min from start to finish.
This is my PSA to entice you to get both a sous-vide device (I love my @joule ) and a vacuum sealer (@foodsaver FTW). I bought a four pack of fillets a while ago at @costco and we ate two of them. I put the other two in a vacuum pack and threw them in the freezer. At around 5:30 today I remembered they were in there, took them out, seasoned the rock hard steaks, and resealed them with a handful of garlic and herbs. Put the whole thing - still frozen - in the water bath with the @joule for about an hour and 40 minutes while we played with the kids and got them to bed. Did a quick pan fry after prepping the sides, and by 7:45 we were enjoying this beautiful meal, with broccolini, toasted bread and a red wine pan sauce.
This evening's quick meal turned out to be pretty delicious.
It's been a week... So it's time for steak. Ribeye cap steaks reverse seared on the weber. With compound butter.
We threw a couple of pizzas into the new Ooni Koda this evening, and played around with dough thickness, cheeses and toppings.
This is a bit of a weird one, but it's not half bad. The Ecliptic Brewing hoku lele is a tropical ale brewed with a bunch of fruit, and comes in strong at 8.0. It basically tatses like a can of juice, but kicks like a double IPA.
